KC Beauty Academy (Beauty School)

I decided to go to Kc Beauty because it was the most affordable. There's pros and cons. Pros you MIGHT get a good teacher, I got an amazing instructor but it was very short lived. There's another teacher there Ms.Julia who I believe is still there and she's great. Another pro is you MIGHT make some good friends. Now the cons, the staff can be really weird sometimes. I had a weird experience with Wendy she would often say rude condescending comments like if I'm not an adult with two kids just trying to make a career for myself. The student kit was not worth it to me personally it was very over priced for cheap stuff I would've rather bought stuff myself. There education is just us reading out loud together. I hardly learned anything and I would've rather studied alone which I had to do to prepare for my test at the end. They treat you like you're a kid in middle school at times and I thought that was really bizarre. Also don't expect them to help you find a job all the job listings they give you at the end are outdated and you won't get hired at any. Last con is they are super cheap when it comes to certain things everything's old broken and the facials we do are so repetitive and basic you won't learn much about how things are in the real world. I don't feel like they prepare you at all for the real world and a lot of people don't make it passed school. Some of the teachers I had , had this weird know it all all attitude and were often reminding us that we were not licensed for no reason. To me the cons outweigh the pros but I still got what I needed from the school which was the hours.

I got a facial from Lexi, she was so sweet and did an amazing job. Just as good as $200 professional licensed facials I’ve gotten. She will make an amazing esthetician and I will be back!!!

Esthetician student here! Our esthetician instructor goes above and beyond in making sure that you are well prepped for the real (esthetician) world. Ms. Julia made learning such a fun experience, and I never went a day without learning something new. Although state board test prep was not explicitly part of the curriculum (while I was a student), Ms. Julia did everything in her power to make sure that we were all well prepped for the exam. In all the six months that I studied there, every student who graduated passed their state board exam. Thank you for everything, Ms. J!

Had a facial today with a wonderful gentleman ✨ I didn’t get a name, but I did get the acne facial and he did amazing explaining each step and product used, really wishing him the best once he is all done with his hours! My skin feels sooo good!

Raimu did an AMAZING job coloring my hair! She spent a lot of time and made sure I was happy during the whole process. She made sure to understand exactly what I wanted and delivered the best result. She also took the time to style my hair afterwards for great photos. I got balayage that turned out beautifully and was so much better than my first coloring at a different salon. I definitely recommend this place to anyone 🙂
