I have been interested in Product Management for a long time, and I finally took the plunge and committed to Product School’s entry level course. There is so much Product Management information out there, and Product School distilled it into a compact impactful course. My instruction Alex Alwan is incredibly knowledgeable, and shared stories from his own experiences, which took the course knowledge into practical applications. I found it an incredible experience and worth the investment

I did the 5-day accelerated Product Management course. I’m hoping to explore new career options in Product management. I joined with no prior experience in PM but found the course great. I found the pace was right, lot of interaction, and we were encouraged to ask questions at every stage. Oleg was our instructor and he was just awesome. He’s ex-google and for every interaction or query, he was able to give examples from past experience. Every day, group exercises allowed you to interact, get to know your cohort better, and network. Interestingly, my cohort had attendees from the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Africa, and of course the US. Advice and resources were also provided to land your next job. That was very helpful. Based on my experience, I would definitely suggest this to anyone looking for a change and trying to get into Product management.

The Accelerated Product Management Fundamentals course is a great program for those already on the PM track as well as those wanting to move into it. I’ve experienced some aspects of PM through my work as well as online, but this course provided a practical framework to piece it all together as well as revisit previous experiences in a new light. The instructor Alex Alwan was amazing. With his wealth of real world experience, Alex brought in the insights and nuances that you can’t get just from watching a video or from reading about theories. This along with real world exercises and collaborations with a diverse group of students from across the globe and across different industries made the program shine. Highly recommended.

I’ve found the Product Leader Certification incredibly helpful and have been able to apply my new learnings straight away. I really liked that the content was very practical. Alex is a great teacher who explained concepts clearly and sparked great conversations during class to always make them engaging and fun. As a new product leader, I feel more confident with the new tools added to my toolkit.

I recently took a product manager instructor-led course with Alex, and I was very impressed with his teaching style and knowledge. He has versatile experience comes prepped for every class, which makes him explain complex concepts in a way that was easy to understand, and he was always available to answer questions. The best part for me was he relates these solutions to real life examples which makes and most people in the batch resonated with it.

One of the things that I appreciated most about Alex’s teaching style was that he was very hands-on. He didn’t just lecture at us, he gave us opportunities to practice what we were learning through exercises and projects. I attended the Master Intensive Weekend taught by Margie. It was amazing! I have been in the business close to 30yrs, still got SO much in just 3 days with Margie. Her knowledge, her eye, her teaching style, are all geared towards helping you bring the best most realistic «life» to your creations. All grounded in being human. It was an incredible class that I couldn’t recommend enough!

Just finished advanced intensive with Diane. It was an amazing experience. I felt safe and comfortable the whole intensive. Diane creates a wonderful space where everyone can get in touch with their own vulnerability and bring into life something authentic and real without getting re-traumatized again. She has years of experience and I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to learn from someone like her. This studio is different. From the first intro session with Hamish to then 8 full days with Diane. It’s not about what you’ve done, and what your resume is. It’s about focusing on you as a person and what you can bring into creation of character. Leave your ego outside the building and have fun!

My time at the Margie Haber has already made such a difference in my daily life and career. My bookings have doubled since I began a few months ago. I began with Jack Perry who IS THE BEST TEACHER I have ever had. He is so warm, welcoming and safe to play with! Consider yourself incredibly lucky if you get placed in his class. I start my intermediate intensive tonight and I’m so excited. Could not recommend this studio enough.

I discovered Margie Haber Studio in 2018 while living in Idaho, and shortly after flew out to attend the Two Week Intensive. Within those two weeks my entire world changed, and I absolutely fell in love with the art of creating the MHS way.

Margie and the entire staff of instructors have a way of making every single actor feel seen, supported, and loved – while also offering profound individual instruction, meeting every actor where they are at in their personal journey.

I thought I knew what «acting» was before, but this studio completely changed the way I approach the craft, allowing me to open up my imagination, find my inner playful child, and completely fall in love with this art form again. It quickly reminded me why I wanted to be an actor in the first place.

The warm and welcoming community gave me a creative home base when I moved to Los Angeles, and has been a safe haven for me ever since, while working though the various levels and training with all of the instructors.

Hi, my name is Tony and I have a dream to be an independent musician, song writer, and singer in the music industry and now I am in a position that I would’ve never imagined myself to be in just a year ago and it’s all thinks to Recording Connections!

I’ve gotten to see how real professional studios operate, I’ve met so many new artests which who I am collaborating with now, I have expanded myself and my methods in music, I have gotten to record artists and even had the chance mix some of their songs, I’ve even had artists ask me to recreate some of their songs and have me join in on really fun projects of theirs, I have learned so much about sound engineering and recording that I feel comfortable enough to do some of it on my own, and the ebook I received answered all of my questions!

Chris was my mentor you see in the pictures below. This man is most likely your girl’s favorite. He is awesome, funny, and focused. He’s a really hard worker and good teacher. He was able to answer any question I had and when he did, he explained things so well that I rather ask him about music stuff than going to the internet any day. He also gave the best advice. There were so many times when I’ve doubted myself but Chris would throw that doubt out the door and make me believe in myself. He doesn’t just give the best music advice, but also gives good life advice. He helped me understand things that were so confusing to me at first. If you ever have any questions regarding sound engineering, mixing, recording, pro tools, or anything to do with music and what’s happening in the studio, he’ll show you and make sure that you understand before moving on to anything else. Big shout out to my boy Chris for being such a great mentor and a good friend.

Jon was my secondary mentor. He was the one that would call me each week to check up on me and see how everything was going at the studio and in my classes. We would also have zoom meetings here and there were we could share and even take over each other’s screens to go over stuff that I was still confused about. What better way to learn how to use a DAW than over zoom with screen sharing and controlling. He could literally show me how to do something by taking over my screen! Just like Chris, Jon was a really good friend and mentor. He was always there for me when ever I had questions or doubts, he helped me understand things and answered a lot of my questions. He would help me whenever I was confused about a certain topic in a chapter or project. He was also very understanding that I never felt embarrassed about not understanding something after we’ve gone over it 5 times already. He made sure I understood what was going on and when ever there was a problem, he would have my back. He also gave good advice in times of doubt and helped me believe in myself. Thank you Jon for being an awesome friend.

I’m sad that it’s over. It looked as if it would be a long journey but it goes by FAST. So use every hour of being in recording connections to your advantage. I have had my questions that I have been pondering for years finally answered and for the first time after many years, I finally have my foot in the door and I couldn’t have done it without Chris and Jon and Recording Connections as a whole! This is just the beginning of my journey and now, because of Recording Connections, I am full with enough confidence, leverage, and knowledge, to exit my comfort zone and pursue my dreams. I will miss all the fun days and laughs Chris and I had at the studio but I doubt this is the last time we’ll be seeing each other.

My Review of the Artist and Producer Program

So I just completed the artist and producer program with RRFC and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. I worked with two fellow producers who are, my academic facilitator Sam Zulfer and my mentor Lance “Blaqout” Dean. Both were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, I feel like I gained two friends during this process.With the help from my mentor Lance I gained knowledge on how to navigate thru the intimidating part of the music industry, and all about branding yourself which was something I had never thought of. On top of that his extensive knowledge with using Abletons being able to show me anything I couldn’t understand or figure out was explained and shownn to me, also helped me hookup my own hardware and sync it thru my DAW . Sam my facilitator was the person I spent most of my time with meeting with him 3 times a week via zoom. I couldn’t be happier being linked up with him, Sam along with his extensive and impressive background in audio engineering and studio productions, and impressive knowledge in Ableton, was able to help my productions go from something I didn’t wanna show people to having songs on all major streaming apps and a catalogue of new tracks waiting to be picked up by record labels. He showed me how to turn my music into professional quality tunes. What to hear for in Eqing frequencies knowing what is causing the problem and fixing it. Anything from how to make my melodies more catchy to the tweaks needed to be made in the mastering process. On top of doing all this also sharing back n forth with both Sam and Lance music that we like with one another and just talking music was amazing. So I will highly recommend this school and course to anyone. Thank you to Lance and Sam for your time and effort and for actually giving a damn, and thank you too everyone at RRFC anyone I delt with was very helpful and extremely polite and friendly.

I went to Albuquerque three weeks ago to shoot a short film with my friend, Dan Grochowski. Turns out he’d done a few projects at a studio called EditHouse…which is where we shot our film.
CUT TO: Me editing as we speak. The whirlwind of that shoot at EditHouse went by so fast there wasn’t any time to conceive how magical and beautifully everything came together in that single day. From lights to camera to action and beyond, every one these folks were spot on, eager to please and as professional as anything I’ve ever seen in Hollywood. And as a family owned operation for decades, it makes you wish every place in life was as accommodating, friendly and wonderful to be around. Thank you so much Ed, for a truly memorable experience. I researched for several years looking for the right school to pursue my passion. When I finally found RRFC, I knew it was the one I had been holding out for. I couldn’t have been more accurate now on the other side of graduation.
My mentor, Sam, went above and beyond to help me not only understand the material but to produce on a level I never thought I was capable of. Thank you isn’t enough to send to RRFC and my mentor, for the world of possibilities they’ve helped me open up moving forward!

La verdad no e ido a ver pero es la universidad de mis sueños

Totally not a great choice for a film school, I originally choose this school cause of a few friends who actually graduated from this school, so I decided to try my luck, and I must say things was going well for me, however they made some policy changes, and my grades slowly started to lower, several times I attempted to contact the film school program director, to no avail, no response to my emails. Long story short, this school withdrew me from the program during the Maui wildfires. I am currently speaking with an attorney to file a federal complaint against this school, possibly seeking a class action suit.

Please read your terms and conditions prior to enrolling, there is better schools than this school just keep searching.

I went for a few months and realized I’m paying full price for lessons that were prerecorded years before. I told them I wanted to exit the course and they said I was good to go. 4 years later they send me an email saying they just found out I left and that I owe them $3k or they will put me in collections if I don’t pay up in 90 days. I called them and they told me they’d setup a payment plan. To just pay $50 and they will take me off the list. They put me back onto collections and did not tell me for over a month. Now I have two weeks to give them this money. They are dishonest.

Garbage Garbage Garbage!!! Not a veteran friendly school!! They only care about the money and don’t give a dam about the students!! Avoid at all cost!! This school is a huge SCAM!!!! Don’t not use VA benefits here! You will get screwed over! Again, NOT A VETERAN FRIENDLY SCHOOL!!!!

Wow. Just wow. Called to get some basic information. Quickly realized this is a scam school like the «art Institute» was (since gone under).
It’s got a similar «as long as you have mo ey or are willing to take huge debt, we will accept you» schools.
I told them I’m not interested… and if that were it, there would be no review.

BUT….these HEATHENS have called me DAILY for months. No matter how many times you say «not interested, please don’t call»…..THEY WILL KEEP CALLING.

Ok… block their number…
THEY THEN SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT NUMBER and keep calling.

Block that number.

They change and call again.

I’m on the 5th number of theirs that I have blocked after telling them over and over I’m not interested.

So I get more calls again…I decide I’m gonna be mean….but now they call….and I answer…
And they don’t speak. I say «hello?» Over and over, and they disconnect.

It’s literally just harassment at this point.

AFI is also host to AFIFEST Film festival, generally held in November, and in partnership with Audi. Together they supply a large number of free tickets, Gala Premiere Screenings, with Alumni, Q&A’s, and other Celebrities.

Without any doubt, the best narrative driven school of the world (at least of my world). In this place, you learn STORY, hence it transforms you. Also, if you ever get a DRIVING CONE with your name by a free parking spot, that’s THE SIGN you made it. AFI Alumni will get this post. The rest, just trust this post is pretty accurate.

I have used USC School of Dentistry for years and have been very pleased with the cost and service.

This will be my go to self tape studio from now on! Beautiful set up, comfortable atmosphere, and Steve is so kind and helpful through the whole process. Also a fantastic reader. It’s great to worry about nothing but the material and have all the tech covered. The final edited scenes are delivered promptly after the session as well. Highly recommend.

Steve is great! Excellent service. Efficient, professional and fun! Steve is very warm and kind and is a working actor himself, so I felt at ease right away because he gets the process. He’s very knowledgeable with current self tape/casting protocol. He helped pick my best takes, coached me (but not too much unless I asked), and even had the props I needed. By the time I got home, I had a nicely edited link with my takes and slate ready to upload. The next day my manager told me my tape got sent to producers! Big win! Thank you, Steve! I’ll be back for the next one!

I’ve been to a couple of the monthly workshops that Steve puts together. Every month it’s an awesome casting director. The set up is great and the setting is very intimate with only a few people. I love how we get to work with one casting director for a whole month. It’s a great class and you learn a lot. Steve is very friendly. Also the self tape service part is great too. I’ve done 2 self tapes there and Steve is really good about helping you do your best for the audition.

I have been to many taping services and Self Tape Service is by far the best experience. Steve has great energy, he is kind and generous! It’s obvious that he really cares that your audition looks and sounds great. He is a real professional and timely with sending tapes! It was an excellent experience! So happy have found this place!

The first time I went to Steve’s for a taping session, I knew I had found the right person for the job. The room and the lighting were perfect, but the best part was when I asked him about something in my performance, and he gave me just a tweak of an adjustment, which was absolutely right on. I always feel I am in a professional environment and I feel safe and comfortable. I also take some of his classes with various casting and acting coaches. I love Paul Ruddy’s class. He is so kind and insightful. Excellent!

IO music academy has been the most amazing experience I could have ever asked for! As a singer songwriter I always wanted to understand the production side of making music and IO has showed me every detail of making music that I could ever need! They have been so kind and patient and understanding in the learning process of production and provide an atmosphere where you feel comfortable to ask as many questions as you need and are always providing more than enough tools and resources and guidance you could ever need for you to accomplish your production and music dreams! Really enjoyed the remix class, secret sauce, and the synthesizers class going deep on sound design.

Nice homework assignments and final projects to push yourself, and community workshops too. I love the private lessons and studio time to really lock in and refine an idea with the instructors. They’re all great.

I’ve taken 4 courses at IO Music Academy and it has been such a rewarding, motivating, and engaging experience that has formed me as a house music producer. This is a school for people who work full/part time but still want to grow, advance their music abilities, and be surrounded by other passionate, driven musicians. The night classes and balanced amount of coursework allow you to go as deep as you want, led by instructors that are all patient, kind, and talented.

What I’ve loved about IO is the access to treated music studios for solo work or collaborations, the tight knit community, and the 1:1 lessons where you get an hour of undivided individualized attention to your projects. The in-person classes are 10x more engaging than an online program, and I say that as someone who studdied individually online for 2 years before going to IO. Plus having other sharp students who ask questions and being able to ask live questions when they pop up is key. The final projects and graduation presentations create skin in the game and a sense of achievement that pushes you forward on your journey in a healthy, supportive way. As an alum and an active community member, I can’t recommend this school enough.

This is my go-to school for in-person music production education in Los Angeles. I love that you don’t have to commit. You can go for just a 2-hour workshop or a 4-week mini course, or a full semester course, there’s no obligation to commit long-term. The instructors are super nice, grounded, and talented and the classes are fun (I can’t handle academia sans humour). Almost all classes are recorded and available online to review as well. I highly recommend IO!

I was stuck. I filmed over 5-hours of conversations with family members in hopes of cutting together a documentary of our history. I had purchased Adobe Premiere Pro and figured I could learn how to edit as I go. Silly me. Hours of watching «How to» videos and years later, I wasn’t close to finishing this gift to my family. Enter Alex Estevez. A video editor who offers to teach the basics of editing to newbies using material he provides. Fortunately for me he also will work with footage the student already has. He offers a few different packages and I opted for four 2-hour lessons, covering assembly through color correction and audio enhancing. I’m not a seasoned pro, but I now have the knowledge to get my project back on track. And if I get stuck again, I know who to call.

I recently completed 8 hours of Zoom tutorials with Alex as an introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro. It was a perfect experience and exceeded my goals and expectations. I found Alex online while looking for someone to help me edit old family videos that I had had digitalized a few years ago. I wasn’t looking to do anything too fancy–just wanted to delete footage (20 minutes worth) of a wall my husband accidentally filmed and perform similar basic tasks. I concluded it would take too long and be too expensive to hire someone to do the editing and opted instead to learn a new skill. I am 69 years old with no prior video editing experience (and very little photo editing experience). Alex was kind and patient throughout and his explanations were always at a level I could understand. For me, the most valuable part was recording the four 2-hour lessons so I could review them as needed–and I have, many times. I know I have barely scratched the surface of what Premiere Pro can do but I was able to put together a lovely 30 minute video of my daughter’s first three Thanksgivings, complete with titles and music, which I «premiered» for my family at Thanksgiving dinner last week! Alex helped me not be afraid of the software and I find new things each time I open a project and work on it. It has been great fun.
